Today i.e. on 28 May NT It is Rama Rao's birthday. Nt Rama Rao (Nandamuri Tarak Rama Rao) was an Indian actor, director, filmmaker and politician. Famous by the nickname of NTR, Rama Rao founded the Telugu Desam Party and was also the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He was Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh thrice between 1983 and 1995. Before joining politics, Rama Rao was a famous actor of Telugu films. In the 1950s, he worked in films related to the lives of Hindu deities such as Krishna and Rama and became a favourite of the audience.

He acted in more than 250 Telugu films, due to which he is considered one of the most well-known actors in the history of Telugu films. Apart from Telugu, he also acted in Tamil and Hindi language films. Seeing his contribution to Indian cinema, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1968.

N.T. Rama Rao (Nandamuri Tarak Rama Rao) was born on 28 May 1923 in Nimmakuru, a small village in Gudivada taluk of Krishna district of Madras Presidency. He received his early education from a village teacher Subba Rao. His parents had adopted him in childhood as his maternal uncle. There was no provision of good education in the village, so N.T. Rama Rao was able to study only till fifth grade in his village. After this, he moved to Vijayawada with his adoptive parents, where he enrolled in a municipal corporation. He passed the Class X examination in 1940 and after that SRR of Vijayawada for further studies. His family's financial condition was not good, so during his studies, Rama Rao used to distribute milk in the local hotels of Vijayawada to help his family. In the year 1945, he joined the Andhra-Christian College for graduation. In 1942, he married his maternal uncle's daughter.
