A few days ago Ranveer Singh grabbed all the limelight by posing nude for the paper magazine. Various Bollywood celebrities and his fans hailed him for his bold photoshoot. Meanwhile, some also criticized him for posing nude. Various complaints were also filed against him for hurting religious sentiment. After which the actor got interrogated in the case.
In his statement, Ranveer Singh said that the seven photographs he posted on Instagram were not obscene and he was wearing underwear. He further said that the photograph in which the complainant had alleged that his ‘private parts were visible’ was morphed and not part of the photoshoot.”
An official source said, “Nude photoshoot controversy | Mumbai Police recorded the statement of actor Ranveer Singh in the nude photoshoot case on Aug 29. As per information accessed now, the actor in his statement has claimed that someone has tampered with and morphed one of the photos of the actor.”
An FIR was registered against Ranveer on July 26, on a complaint filed by an office-bearer of the NGO who had alleged that the actor hurt the sentiments of women with his nude photos. The Mumbai Police filed the FIR under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code like 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and provisions of the Information Technology Act. After which the actor was interrogated for August 29. He was interrogated for hours in the case.
