New Delhi: Industrialist Nusli Wadia has withdrawn the defamation case filed against Ratan Tata and the Tata group. Today in the apex court, it has been said by the Tata group that in 2016, the intention behind removing Wadia from the board of some companies was not to defame them. After this, Wadia's lawyer said to withdraw the case.

Nusli Wadia filed a defamation case of Rs 3000 crore against Ratan Tata, Tata Sons, and its directors. Wadia had first filed a case in Mumbai's Magistrate Court against Ratan Tata, Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran and 8 directors. In December 2018, the Magistrate Court sent notices to Ratan Tata and others. After this, the Ratan Tata side challenged the case in the Bombay High Court. Wadia's case was dismissed by the High Court. After which the matter reached the Supreme Court.
