Sudhakar Komakula, who suffered a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 45-year-old woman, is still visibly shocked. “It all happened in a flash. I was seated in the front passenger seat and had just pushed my seat back a little to check my phone when I heard the driver shriek. Before I even looked up, our car had rammed into a tractor. The driver lay beside me bleeding profusely and a woman was lying in a pool of blood on the road. I was saved because I was wearing the seatbelt.

Here it is to be noted that soon a mob tried to attack me assuming that I was driving the car; it was scary. I’m still unable to come to terms with the fact that Lakshmi garu (the deceased woman) lost her life,” confesses the actor. But reports claiming that he was driving the car made things worse, he says. “I have been through a lot of humiliation and agony, but I’m gathering the courage to move on. This incident will haunt me for a long time even though I did nothing. We’ve decided to provide 5 lakh as relief to the victim’s family and I will meet them soon.”

Sudhakar admits that he had to “dig deep to find the resolve to put up a bold face” and continue promoting his film, Nuvvu Thopu Raa, which is set to release today. He plays a young man called Saroornagar Suri, who shares a troubled relationship with his single mother and is constantly beaten down by life. “Suri works at a gas station in the US, doing 18-hour shifts, getting only one day off per season. How he uses that one day to better his life and pulls off the impossible is what the film is all about,” he says adding, “I connected with the character deeply. While I might not have worked at a gas station, I did odd jobs in film industry. I too have seen a lot of lows in the last few years.
