Ranchi: Hemant Soren's cabinet in Jharkhand is going to be expanded today and new ministers are to be sworn in at the swearing-in ceremony held at 3.45 pm in the Raj Bhavan of Ranchi. Earlier there were reports of expansion of the cabinet on 24 January 2020 but it was postponed at the last moment. It is also being said that three members from Congress can be included in the cabinet. As many as 8 new ministers are going to take oath in the oath-taking ceremony held at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

According to sources, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 11th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 29 December 2019. The JMM, Congress and RJD's grand alliance won a big victory in the Jharkhand assembly elections. In the 81-member assembly, where the grand alliance won more than 47 seats, the ruling BJP had to be satisfied with only 25 seats.
