INDORE: Indore city dream to become open defecation free (ODF) soon turning into the reality as state chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan going to declare ODF on December 26.
Chief minister will award title during a program here at Dussehra Maidan during a function.
Function is organized to thanks Indoreans for their support. Before this, many of the areas were prohibited for open defecation and they supported by spreading message to 'stop open defecation and make our city clean'.
Indore Municipal Corporation after much debate decided charge fine of Rs.100 for one who openly defecate, IMC Mayor Malini Gourd Implemented this rule on 16th of December. Public toilets are constructed over 85 wards in the city under ODF( Open Defecation Free).
Additional Commissioner of IMC, Rohan Saxena expressed his joy by saying, “we have finally reached at a stage that we can declare the city as open defecation free ; adequate toilet facilities have been provided.”
He added, “we could not have achieved this without the cooperation of people, they deserve recognition.”
After the declaration of ODF in function, government will conduct the survey of the city to look up for the proper construction.
