KANDHAMAL: On Monday,  Eight people were killed and over 25 people critically injured after a truck overturned in Odisha's Kandhamal district. The accident took place at Poiguda ghat near Baliguda in Kandhamal. Around 40-50 persons were onboard the truck and the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels at a bent portion of the road following which it turned turtle and fell into a gorge.

As per reports says, On Monday, at least four persons were killed and several others were injured when a sports utility vehicle (SUV) carrying them crashed head-on with a truck in Kendrapara district. The accident happened near Kattia Chowk on the Cuttack-Chandaballi State Highway due to low visibility caused by dense fog,

The truck was on the way to Brahmanigaon from Gadapur carrying the victims for an event. The injured ones have been admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for treatment.The rescue operation is currently underway. 

Transport Minister Nrusingha Charan Sahu had directed the Kandhamal RTO to probe into the incident.
