Balasore: In A tragic accident, at least six people, including a one-year-old infant, were killed and approximately 20 others sustained serious injuries this afternoon in Odisha when the bus on which they were travelling overturned after being struck by a coal-laden truck.
The road accident occurred at Bidu Chowk in Soro district of Balasore while the bus was on its way to Bhubaneswar from Udala district of Balasore.
The passenger bus, named “ 'Shantilata,' became a turtle after being struck from behind by a speeding coal-laden truck.
Local police conducted the rescue operation with the assistance of some villagers and passersby and admitted all injured persons to Soro hospital for treatment. The death toll is likely to rise, as the majority of injured individuals are in critical condition.
