BHUBANESWAR: The gross GST collection in Odisha increased by 17.11% in August 2022 compared to the collection in August of the previous year, official said.
According to information provided by the state's office of the GST Commissioner, gross GST collection in August 2022 was Rs 3,883.90 crore as opposed to Rs 3,316.55 crore in August of the previous year. As of August of the fiscal year 2022–23, the State had collected a cumulative total of Rs. 20,366.77 billion in gross GST, compared to the previous fiscal year's Rs. 16,977.92 billion (2020-21). It indicates a rise of 19.96% in the total GST collected this year.
In comparison to the same period of the prior fiscal year, the state's OGST (Odisha GST) collection increased by 29.59% through the month of August of the current fiscal year (2021-22). OGST collected a cumulative total of Rs 6,267.93 crore as of August 22, compared to Rs 4,836.75 crore from April to August of 2021.
In August 2018, the OGST collection totaled Rs 1,019.81 crore compared to Rs 956.47 crore in August 2021, representing a 6.62 percent increase.
Similar to that, the total amount of VAT (fuel and alcohol) collected in August 2022 was Rs 933.62 crore, an increase of 5.59 percent, according to the officials
The revenue from alcohol increased by 17.27% this month, from Rs. 183.51 crore to Rs. 183.51 crore, compared to Rs. 156.49 crore in August of 21.
