Bhubaneswar: Harnaaz Sandhu, the 21-year-old woman who won the Miss Universe title, received well wishes from Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday. Sandhu beat out 79 other competitors from around the world to win the prestigious title.

"Congratulate HarnaazSandhu on bringing home the MissUniverse crown after 21 years," Patnaik said on Twitter. It is unquestionably a proud moment for India. "All the best to Harnaaz Sandhu." Miss Universe was last crowned in 2000 by Lara Dutta, with Sushmita Sen being the first to do so in 1994.

Harnaaz Sandhu of Chandigarh has finally brought home the Miss Universe crown after a two-decade wait.  The 21-year-old took home the trophy at a glitzy ceremony hosted at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel, on Sunday night.
