BHUBANESHWAR: In a recent development, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conducted a comprehensive assessment of the district-level public grievance redressal programs carried out by the Chief Minister's Office. The program has received an overwhelming response, with more than 18,000 petitions submitted from various districts.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary PK Jena briefed the Chief Minister on the progress made in addressing the petitions received during the district visits of the CMO. A thorough review has been conducted at the departmental level to prioritize and resolve the raised issues effectively.
Specific issues pertaining to the Angul district were deliberated upon, and the Chief Minister emphasized the need for prompt action to address them. In his statement, the Chief Minister expressed his unwavering commitment to public grievance redressal. He urged the departments and district administration to handle the grievances with sensitivity and efficiency. The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of the CMO's interactions with the people, aiming to listen to their grievances firsthand.
"Our officials have been actively visiting the districts, even reaching the block levels, to facilitate public grievance redressal meetings. As a result, we have received more than 18,000 petitions during these decentralized sessions," stated Naveen Patnaik.
To ensure the effective redressal of public grievances, the Chief Minister directed the departments to prioritize the resolution process. Additionally, the CM announced the implementation of 'Mo Sarkar' initiative, which will evaluate the progress of grievance redressal. Starting next month, the CMO will engage in telephonic conversations with the citizens to assess the effectiveness of the redressal measures undertaken.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister unveiled plans to commemorate the contributions of Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, a significant figure in India's freedom struggle and the development of Odisha. A memorial in Pabitranagar and a medical college named after him will be established by October. Additionally, the upcoming bridge on the Brahmani River in Kaniha will bear his name as a tribute to this great soul," the CM added.
Several crucial decisions have been made concerning the Angul district. Notably, the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Chendipada will now be included in the AMA hospital network. Furthermore, the inauguration of the fire station in Bantala and the opening of the Satkoshia Eco-Tourism site are imminent. The government has allocated Rs 4.65 crore to address the issue of Man-Elephant conflict in Bantala, demonstrating its commitment to wildlife conservation.
Overall, the Chief Minister's review of the district-level public grievance redressal programs has showcased the government's dedication to promptly address citizen concerns and ensure efficient administration.
