The Odisha government has banned the movement of Kanwaria and Bol bum devotees and congregations. At the same time, they are not allowed to carry water from religious places or other sources. In addition, no water has been sanctioned to ply on public roads and pour water into temples during the month of Shravan (July-August). The Odisha government has banned the holy Bol Bum Yatra starting in the month of Sawan in view of the third wave of corona infection. At the same time, the government also canceled the Kanwar Yatra.

This information was given by Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena on Tuesday before the Uttarakhand government also announced a ban on Kanwar yatra. According to the Odisha government, no Kanwaris or devotees will be allowed to visit the shrine nor will they be able to walk in public places. In addition, they will not be able to endeavor water to any temple. The Odisha government has ordered the devotees and Kanwari to bol-bum from the rivers not to fill water.

At the same time, devotees in the month of Sawan in the state do not have the approval of Jal Abhishek at any Shiva temple in the state. Due to this, devotees cannot go to any temple nor can they walk in public places. Thousands of devotees visit the Lingraj temple in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, in the holy month of Sawan of Hindus. It is said that Mahadev's Shivlinga appeared on his own in the Lingaraj temple, which was not installed by anyone. The Shivalinga established here is Swayamsambhu, the sanctum sanctorum of the Lingaraj temple, where Mahadev and Vishnu are worshipped together.
