Bhubaneswar: The first-ever physical National Yogasana Sports Championships in India began on Thursday in Bhubaneswar. The championship, which is being organised by the National Yogasana Sports Federation (NYSF) in collaboration with the Odisha government, will run until November 13. It all started with a vibrant and enthralling opening ceremony in front of 560 young athletes who were aiming for 50 medals in a competition that was uniquely designed.

Udith Sheth, the NYSF's chief, said, "We want Yogasana to be known as India's heritage sport. The championship structure for Yogasana as a sport has been carefully crafted." "We are pleased with the large turnout from across the country. Being in the company of such talented athletes, coaches, and experts is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We hope to promote Yogasana as a sport on a global scale he said.

Health and fitness should be a top priority, according to NYSF Secretary General Jaideep Arya, and there is no better discipline than yoga. "Yogasana as a sport is a game-changing idea for bringing more fruitful relevance to youth all over the world. We at the NYSF are dedicated to promoting Yogasana and upholding high standards in the competitive sport "he said.
