Bhubaneswar: A 40-year-old man has killed a Tantrik in Odisha's Jajpur district. According to the report, one thing was decided between the accused man and the Tantrik. In fact, the Tantrik had promised the man to bring his wife back. Failing to do so, he took this step.

Police said Shantanu Behera had sought the help of Tantrik Mania Babar to bring his wife back as she had been living with her two children in her parent's house for the past few months after the relationship soured. Behera tried several times to convince her wife, but things did not work out. Behera, a resident of Bandhgaon under the Sukinda police station area, had given Rs 5,000 to the Tantrik, police said, adding that the Tantrik had promised the youth to bring back his wife. According to police, when 47-year-old Tantrik Babar reached Behera's house in the afternoon, the two got into an argument.  

According to the officer, the accused demanded Tantrik to return his money if he did not complete the work. During this time, there was a clash between the two, in a fit of rage, Behera hit Babar with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot. He then surrendered before the police along with the weapon used in the crime.
