Odisha revenue ministry informs govt trying to resolve border issue with AP

Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Sudam Marndi notified the House that border dispute is between Koraput district of Odisha and some of the bordering districts of adjacent Andhra Pradesh. Replying to an Adjournment Motion, moved by MLA Mohan Charan Majhi and others on the inter-state boundary dispute, the minister revealed this information. 

The House was informed of the row runs over 21 border villages, the Revenue Minister stated that the borderline will be marked again with mutual understanding between the two adjoining States. He also stated that Odisha Government is well aware of the boundary dispute with other States and regular reviews are being undertaken in this regard. A special development package for the 21 villages under Kotia GP has already been planned comprising road construction, government offices, school, hostels for the students, etc. A high level committee has been constituted chaired by the Member, Board of Revenue to supervise the ongoing implementation of the special development package. 

The Member, Board of Revenue has already reviewed the development work and boundary dispute through video conferencing on 23.11.2020 and was participated by the Koraput Collector, Southern RDC and other departmental officials, stated the Minister. Minister notified the House that the Visakhapatnam Collector has been intimated that the boundary line will be demarcated peacefully basing on the revenue maps of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
