Bhubaneswar: A case of rape has been registered against the Superintendent of Police of Sundergarh in Odisha. According to reports, a superintendent of police misbehaved and beat a pregnant woman, which led to her miscarriage. A case has been registered against The District Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra at Hemgiri police station on 14th of this month after the incident broke out.
The case has been registered after the order of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate of Sundergarh. In fact, 22-year-old victim Priya Dey, a resident of Kanika village, had lodged a complaint with the police on August 5. The woman had said in her complaint that she had an abortion last month due to police action and her baby died in her womb.
No statement has been made from the Superintendent of Police until the news of the incident is written. A case has been registered against the Superintendent of Police. On the other hand, the official said that after the investigation of the case, legal action will be taken against the accused. She said the woman has been admitted to the hospital.
