Okinawa, an electric vehicle manufacturer, is preparing to launch its new Oki90 electric scooter in India. In India, the scooter is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2022.

Now, a new electric scooter has been spotted during road testing by some media, and it's most likely the same type from Okinawa. The prototype seems to be in the latter phases of development, as evidenced by spy photographs, and the most of the body panels look to be ready aesthetically.

While the exterior has been cleverly covered behind a camouflage sheet, elements like as the taller and expanded seats, massive chunky alloy wheels, silver-finished rear grab rail, and dual spring suspension at the back are all evident. Larger alloy wheels will definitely improve the scooter's overall riding dynamics. The wheels appear to be almost 14 inches wide, which is bigger than most other electric scooter wheel sizes available in India.

The scooter will come with a removable lithium-ion battery and a fast charger, as previously stated. Also, the images suggest that the Oki90 will not have a hub-mounted motor, instead opting for a centrally mounted unit. Expect the battery and engine specs to be similar to those of Okinawa's other premium models, with a peak speed of roughly 80 kmph and a full charge range of 150 to 180 kilometres. Expect the scooter to include some connected features like geo-fencing, navigation, and diagnostics when it launches.

It will be a major rival to the Ola Electric S1 and the Simple Energy One, among others.
