To stop the spread of corona in India, the fourth phase of lockdown is now underway and this time the government has given many types of relaxation in the rules, such as the movement of vehicles has been given for non-essential works. In the third phase of the lockdown, app-based cab provider company Ola and Uber started their operations in many Orange and Green zone areas of the country and now the company is expanding its service and area. However, despite getting exemption from the government, Ola said that his vehicles will not run in the Red Zone area.

Ola has started operations in more than 160 cities, including Karnataka, Telangana, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu (except Chennai), Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Assam. Three-wheelers and four-wheelers are a part of this operational re-start. New cities where Uber has started cab and auto service include Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Delhi, Faridabad, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mysore, Patiala, Sonipat and Tiruchirappalli.

The two companies further said that the service offering is being made available at the highest level of safety. During this time it will be mandatory for everyone to wear a mask, in which both the driver-partner and passenger will come. After the trips, there will be complete sanitization of the cars and social distancing rules will be followed by sitting only two passengers on a ride. While Ola says that the AC will remain closed and the window will remain open during all rides, Uber has given the option to switch on-off. Customers will need to keep and pick up their own goods and with this, they have been encouraged to make cashless payments for rides. Both Ola and Uber are offering drivers and customers the option to cancel rides if the other is not fully following the cleaning rules to ensure their safety and the other's safety during the ride.
