Ola launches a trial of a fast grocery delivery service: Report

New Delhi: According to sources, Ola has begun testing a quick delivery service for items such as groceries, personal care, and pet care products in Bangalore, marking the company's first foray into the quick commerce sector.

The report said taht Ola is launching a pilot of its 'Ola Store' in Bangalore, starting with a few key neighbourhoods and then expanding across India in the coming months. They added that the service is aiming for a delivery time of less than 15 minutes.

According to the sources, the service is available through the Ola app and is currently being rolled out to a select group of Bengaluru residents. Customers will be able to choose from nearly 2,000 products in a variety of categories, including groceries, beverages, home and personal care, and pet care. According to the sources, these will be delivered from dark stores strategically located throughout the city. Quick commerce (or q-commerce) allows customers to get small quantities of goods to customers in a shorter period of time than traditional e-commerce deliveries. Dunzo and Swiggy Instamart are two of the segment's major players.
