CBS presenter Gayle King gave the award to the artist of As It Was. According to Page Six, Wilde was seen triumphantly glancing at Harry as he received the banner. Many concertgoers were surprised to see the director among them because recent rumours about the renowned couple's breakup have been spreading quickly. The ensemble has recently been embroiled in a lot of controversy as the debut of their movie Don't Worry Darling approaches.

The duo agreed not to appear as a couple at the Venice Film Festival and kept things professional on the red carpet, even keeping a safe, purposeful distance from one another. The duo was usually visible within an arm's length of each other later at the movie's New York City premiere. Due to the couple's apparent lack of PDA, many people speculated that there was a conflict between them; but, thanks to Wilde's encouraging presence at Harry's concert, all unfounded rumours have been put to rest.

Harry, on the other hand, was seen breaking down on stage as he received the banner. People realised the Booksmart director was crying at the same time after seeing tears run down Styles' cheeks.
