NEW DELHI: The Indian women's hockey team stopped world number two team Australia from a draw in a match played on Sunday. The team raked in a 2-2 draw against Australia in the round-robin league match of the Olympic Test event in Tokyo. Vandana Kataria (36th minute) and Gurjit Kaur (59th minute) scored goals for India in the second match of the tournament. For Australia, Caitlin Nobbs scored the goal in the 14th and Grace Stewart scored in the 43rd minute. India beat hosts Japan 2-1 in the opening match on Saturday.

The world's 10th-ranked Indian team aggressively launched the match. He played the same game as Australia's aggressive hockey, which led both teams to a penalty corner. However, both of them could not score goals. But in the 4th minute, the Indian defender stopped a shot on the goal, after which Australia were given a penalty stroke.

Nobs scored a goal and made no mistake in giving the team a 1-0 lead. The Australian team dominated the second quarter completely and scored several penalty corners to put the Indian team under pressure. Indian goalkeeper Savita made several good defences, leading Australia 1-0 at half-time. In the third quarter, the Australian team dominated again and scored some chances to score a goal through the penalty corner. But Savita again made a brilliant defence.
