The number of persons infected with COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh has risen to 58,803 after 532 more people tested positive for the virus on Saturday, the highest number this month.

In Arunachal, 449 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Friday. According to State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr. Lobsang Jampa, 181 new cases were reported in the Capital Complex Region, 49 in the Lower Dibang Valley, 45 in Tirap, Namsai (43), Changlang (36), Lohit (34) and Papumpare (26). The new cases include an ITBP jawan and an NDRF employee.

The COVID-19 death toll has remained at 282 since no new fatalities have been reported in the recent 24 hours., Said Jampa He stated that so far, 55,861 people had recovered from the disease, including 132 on Friday.
