New Delhi: New research is emerging day by day on the new omicron variant of corona infection. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has claimed that omicrons are being incubated in our bodies within just 12-24 hours. Dr Anil Goel, Secretary of Finance, IMA said that the reports coming about the spread of omicrons are shocking. He said that this infection is incubating our body as fast as chickenpox. Dr Anil Goel said that the incubation period in delta variants (Delta Variant) was considered to be 3 to 7 days. The variant before that was considered to have a 14-day incubation period, whether it was alpha beta or gamma. In the cases of omicrons that are coming up now, it is said that its incubation period is only 12 to 24 hours. This means that one patient can spread the infection from another patient in just 12 to 14 hours and cause clinical symptoms.

Dr Anil Goel said that the manner in which variants came from South Africa and Botswana became an example for many countries. At the same time, another thing has been found that in this case, like chickenpox, the disease is spreading very fast. The virus was also found in omicron at the same speed as chickenpox infection.

Dr. Anil Goel said that one of the understandable things is that the speed at which it is spreading is if compared to the last time that it went with four lakhs in 1 day. If that is the case, one lakh cases come in 1 day and if we need icu, we may have difficulty. That is what we have to keep in mind that our public health infrastructure will be under a lot of pressure. So, we have to be alerted now.

Booster dose is required:-
The Indian Medical Association has demanded that anyone who is immunocompromised should get additional doses at the earliest. Especially those who already have heart disease and many other diseases must get booster doses. In addition, health care workers should also get booster doses.
