New Delhi: Amid the rising cases of corona in Delhi, another concern has been reported. A study has revealed that another new variant of Omicron has been found in samples of corona patients taken from Delhi. The study was conducted at LNJP Hospital. According to the report, a senior hospital official said on Thursday that the samples of these patients were sent for genome sequencing and they were analyzed this week. According to officials, more than half of the samples contained omicron's new sub-variant BA2.75 is received. Earlier, cases of BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants of Omicron were found in Delhi.

Giving information about the study, the doctor said that cases of new variants of Omicron have been found, this variant is more infectious. But infected patients are recovering soon. Patients infected with BA 2.75 are recovering in just 5-7 days. According to sources, 90 patients were included in this study. Corona cases have increased rapidly in Delhi in the last 2 weeks. Between August 1-10, 19,760 cases have been found in the capital. Apart from this, there has been a 50 per cent increase in containment zones. On Thursday, 6 patients died of corona in Delhi. While 8 persons lost their lives on Wednesday. This was the highest in the last 6 months.
