Jammu: After the Centre revoked Jammu & Kashmir’s special status on August 5, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s State unit intends to celebrate this 15th August on a grand level. On the occasion of Independence Day, 50 thousand flags have been invited from the national capital Delhi to hoist the tricolour in every panchayat by the BJPs state unit and these will be given to activists and panchayats.

BJP leader Ravindra Raina has said that the BJP will buy 50000 national flags and distribute it to people in Jammu and Kashmir. National flags will be waved everywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, Union Minister of State for Home (Kisan Reddy) told a press conference that all the villages of Jammu and Kashmir will be lifted on August 15 in Panchayat.

In view of the plan of such a celebration on Independence Day, the central government has made security arrangements, which are being monitored by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his team. State BJP President Ravinder Raina told media that 25 thousand silk and 25 thousand khadi tricolours have been ordered in Delhi. It has to be distributed in Jammu, Srinagar and Leh. All Sarpanchs and Panchs have also been given the outline of the programme.

Raina added, "There is tremendous enthusiasm for Independence day celebration and it looks like for the first time we have come out of slavery."
