Laptops will be distributed to 20,000 meritorious students of the academic year 2018-19 and 2019-20 and smartphones to the students of the session 2020-21.

The supply of laptops is to be made available to the education department in the districts by April 7. The Directorate of Higher Education is engaged in procuring smart mobile phones on its own. The state government has also decided to give laptops worth Rs 41,550 per meritorious. The government has decided to give laptops to 18,019 meritorious students of class 10th and 12th and 1,828 from colleges included in the merit list for the academic session 2018-19, 2019-20.

Due to the Corona crisis, the purchase process of laptops was affected over the last two years. Now the company has been selected and the supply order has also been given to it. Under the old judgment, it was agreed to give laptops worth Rs 40,735 in schools and Rs 47,807 in colleges. Now the government has decided to make purchases at a uniform rate for all the students. Now the price of the laptop has been fixed at Rs 40,735. Laptops are also going to be taken from the company for Rs 41,550 including GST. For the meritorious of the academic session 2020-21 and 2021-22, the government is going to give smart mobile phones. The Directorate of Higher Education has also started the process of procuring smartphones. On April 15, smart mobile phones will be given to the meritorious people of the year 2020-21.
