The whole country is mourning the news of Ratan Tata's death. He breathed his last on the night of October 9 at Mumbai's Bridge Candy Hospital. At the age of 86, he was suffering from age-related diseases. As soon as the news of his death came, people's eyes became moist and a wave of mourning spread across the country.

Ratan Tata's body has now been brought to his house in Colaba. From there, his body will be kept in Mumbai's National Center for Performing Arts (NCPA) Hall for the last darshan, where the general public will be able to see him from 10 am to 3:30 pm. After this, his last rites will be performed at Worli crematorium.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that Ratan Tata will be given a farewell with full state honours. His body will be wrapped in the tricolour, which is a symbol of respect for his service and contribution to the country.

Who gets the honour of the tricolour?

Usually, the final farewell by wrapping the tricolor is given to those who dedicate their lives in the service of the country, such as army personnel, paramilitary personnel, and policemen who are martyred in the defense of the country. However, now the rules have changed. Nowadays, those people also get the honor of the tricolor who have made a special contribution to the country in politics, literature, science, industry, or other fields. Ratan Tata will get this honor for the contribution he made in the field of industry and philanthropy.

Ratan Tata was known not only as a great industrialist but also as a philanthropist in his life. He donated a large part of his wealth many times. Especially during the Corona epidemic, the Tata Group made a huge contribution of Rs 1500 crore so that the country could overcome this crisis. Apart from this, Tata Trust spends about Rs 1200 crore every year for charity, which works to help students and other needy people. Ratan Tata used to donate a large part of his earnings to social work. His contribution made him respected and loved across the country. With his demise, the country lost not only a great industrialist but also a great human being.
