New Delhi: Amid long-running tensions in the Ladakh region between India and China, jawans from both countries clashed in Arunachal Pradesh as they patrolled along the Line of Control. However, the matter was resolved after a commander level discussion. However, the clash took place last week.

Defence sources said, there was no loss. Questions are also being raised about whether PLA jawans were detained by Indian troops near the Tawang sector near the Yangtze in Arunachal Pradesh last week. The Indo-China border has not been formally demarcated, so there is a difference in the perception of LAC between the countries. But the compliance with existing agreements and protocols between the two countries has made peace possible in these areas.

For your information, 100 jawans had earlier entered the Barahoti sector of Uttarakhand on 30th August in violation of the Line of Actual Control near the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China and returned a few hours later. However, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) troops are deployed in the area. Indian troops had patrolled the area as part of a counter-strategy.
