Although there is a different IMEI number for every mobile phone, but a shocking news has come out from Meerut. In fact, more than 13,000 mobile activates have been found on an IMEI number of Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo. This has been disclosed by the Cybercrime Cell of Meerut Zone. Also, a fraud case has been filed against the Chinese company in Meerut. At the same time, the police has also started investigation in this matter.

Information received in this way
Sub-Inspector Asharam, posted in ADG Zone office of Meerut, had a Vivo company mobile, which had broken the screen due to some reason. To fix the screen, he gave his mobile at Vivo's service center in Meerut on 24 September 2019. After this, the company changed the battery, screen and FM and gave the mobile back to sub-inspector Asharam, but after a few days, the screen of his phone started to deteriorate again.

Cyber team started investigating
When the phone's screen was not working properly, Asharam feared that the IMEI number had been tampered with. He then informed this to Prashant Kumar, a senior officer posted in Meerut Zone. After this, Prashant Kumar directed Prabaj Kumar, Pankaj and cyber expert Vijay Kumar of Cybercrime Cell to investigate. The investigation found that the IMEI number of Asharam's phone is different from the IMEI number of the existing mobile. When asked by Vivo's service center manager about this, he said that the IMEI number of the mobile was not changed. But meanwhile, data was sought from the Telecom Jio Company, the report from there claimed that on September 24, 2019, between 13 and 11.30 in the morning, about 13,557 mobile numbers were active on this IMEI number across the country.

Notice sent to Vivo India
After investigating the entire case by the cyber cell, Uttar Pradesh Police has sent a notice to Vivo India under 91 CRPC. At the same time, the cyber cell believes that Vivo India has been negligent and has also violated the rules of TRAI.

Rajiv Sabarwal gave a statement
ADG Rajiv Sabarwal of Meerut has said that this is the biggest negligence of the company. If someone commits a crime with that IMEI number, it is very difficult to catch him. He further said that investigation into the case has started and a case has also been registered against the company.
