Another case of sacrilege in Punjab, torn pages of Gutka Sahib found near Gurdwara Reru Sahib

Amritsar: The atmosphere in Punjab has become tense after the 'sacrilege' case once again came to light. The case has come to light from the Basant Nagar area under the Daba police station in Ludhiana. Torn pages of Gutka Sahib were recovered near Gurudwara Reru Sahib on Sunday evening (January 16, 2022). After which tension has increased in the area.  Police collected the torn pages with the help of locals and handed them over to the gurudwara sahib staff.

Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP, Rural) Raocharan Singh Brar said that some locals had seen torn pages of Gutka Sahib in a street near Gurudwara Reru Sahib and informed the police. After which they started an inquiry. Police have registered an FIR against the unidentified person on the complaint of Sukhdeep Singh in the case. Deputy Inspector-in-charge of Daba police station Davinder Singh said that a case has been registered against unidentified persons under Section 295-A (hurting religious sentiments) of IPC. Police are CCTV footage and searching for the accused.

Recently, a person was arrested for alleged cruelty at Bhagupur Haveliyan Gurudwara in Ajnala town of Amritsar district of Punjab. He was accused of picking up the form of Guru Granth Sahib from Palki Sahib and placing it on the table. He had then kept Gutka Sahib in his pocket. He also picked up Rumal Sahib and put it in his pocket and tried to escape. It was then that the managers of the gurudwara caught him and locked him in a room. He was declared mentally imbalanced.
