Srinagar: Security forces and militants had an encounter in Chdoora area of Budgam in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In the ncounter, security forces have killed a terrorist. A terrorist has been caught alive. A joint search operation was carried out by the police and security forces. The encounter began in Chakura after the militants cordoned off the area during a search operation based on specific information about their hiding.
According to the report, as soon as the security forces arrived at the place where the militants were hiding, the militants started firing indiscriminately after which the encounter started. Some of the terrorists were said to have been hiding in a house and firing. However, the operation is now over. Earlier, two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Chakura area of South Kashmir's Shopian district on Wednesday. The security forces had received secret information about the hiding of the terrorists, on the basis of which they conducted a search operation.
As soon as the security forces cordoned off the hideouts of the militants, the militants started firing on the security forces. On the other hand, a Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan, who fled his camp in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir with an AK-47 magazine, was arrested in Rajouri district on Friday.
