Lucknow: A major road accident has taken place in the Unnao district of UP. A roadways bus fell off the bridge near Azad Marg bypass. About 25 people were injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. Of these, the condition of seven is very critical. Reports say that a roadways bus from Azad Nagar in the Achalganj police station area on Lucknow-Kanpur highway in Unnao district suddenly fell down from a bridge at Azad Marg intersection. Out of the 35 passengers on the bus, seven were seriously injured. Others also suffered minor injuries. All of them have been admitted to the district hospital amidst screams. All were referred to Kanpur.

It is said that the accident took place around 2 pm. The roadways bus of Azad Nagar depot carrying 35 passengers is on its way from Lucknow towards Kanpur. As soon as the bus reached near Azad Marg intersection, it fell down from the bridge uncontrollably. There was an atmosphere of confusion among the passengers.  

Amidst the screams, people from a nearby restaurant with the help of police pulled out the stranded passengers in the bus and admitted them to the district hospital. From where everyone has been referred to Kanpur. Those who sustained minor injuries went home after first aid. Regarding the accident, Dinesh and Sunil, residents of Banpurwa under the Panki police station area of Kanpur Nagar, said that the driver was driving the bus at a very high speed. Even after interrupting several times, he did not slow down the speed of bus, which led to the accident. The police are taking action.
