Israel has launched a massive aerial assault on the Gaza Strip, marking one of the largest attacks on the besieged region, according to Israeli officials.

The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has issued a grim warning in response to unannounced Israeli attacks on Gaza civilians, threatening to execute one Israeli captive for each such attack.

In a display of solidarity, both the White House in Washington, D.C., and the Sydney Opera House in Australia have illuminated their facades in blue and white, symbolizing support for Israel. Meanwhile, over a thousand people waving Palestinian flags have gathered outside the Sydney Opera House to express their support for Palestine.

Reports emerging from western Gaza indicate that an Israeli airstrike on a residential building has claimed the lives of five individuals, including at least two journalists. The Turkish Anadolu Agency has identified the deceased journalists as Saeed Al-Taweel and Mohammad Sobh, with further details forthcoming. Notably, the Committee to Protect Journalists had previously reported the deaths of three Palestinian journalists, one injury, and the disappearance of two others since hostilities began on Saturday.

In light of escalating tensions, Indonesia's Foreign Ministry has issued a statement urging its citizens in Israel and the Palestinian territories to promptly evacuate these areas for their safety. This advisory also extends to those planning trips to these regions.

The United Nations' humanitarian relief agency reports a surge in mass displacement within the Gaza Strip, with over 187,518 Palestinians fleeing their homes in the past 24 hours. This number is expected to rise as Israeli airstrikes persist. Of those displaced, 137,427 have sought refuge in 83 schools, while an additional 41,000, whose homes have been damaged or destroyed, are being hosted by relatives and neighbors, as stated in the latest update from OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs).
