Kanpur: Six bookies were detained by the police for exposing a large gang playing and feeding online bets from a foreign app. 93 lakh 72 thousand 130 rupees were seized. 27 thousand Nepalese currency was also seized along with note counting machine. The bookies also have contacts with Sri Lanka and Nepal. Two bookies escaped. DIG, Dr Preetinder Singh said that under the leadership of SP West Dr Anil Kumar, SP South Deepak Bhukar and ASP Trainee Ajay Jain, raiding in Fazalganj, Najeerabad and Kakadev, Kaushalpuri resident mobile shop owner Harpreet Singh Bedi, usher Reishu Arora, Sarojnagar Nagar Fazalganj Vinod Kumar Chhabra from Darshanpurwa, Rejak Singh and Azad Nagar Tirwa Kannauj's Gurmeet Singh were detained.

They were all playing betting on cricket matches online. Note counting devices, a register, 11 mobiles, and a laptop were also received near Harpreet. Two bookies, including Ranjit alias Rinku, fled. SP West said that Cricket Live Line, Cricket Gurus, All the News, The Memories Asian and many others were betting through these apps. All of them used to connect together through ID.

From the score to how many runs and wickets will be in the number of overs, how many runs will be made or how many runs will not be made in the fixed overs, they used to bet on all of them. If a bookie claimed to be short-run, he would not speak or write. The one who claimed to be a scheduled run would say that. The same is now being investigated by the police.
