New Delhi: There is big news for the people of Delhi. Yes, these people are going to get the biggest Diwali gift in the festival season. This is because, from next week, Delhiites will now be able to take 24-hour service from more than 300 establishments. Yes and these include restaurants to medical shops. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered to issue of this notification under the information received recently. Many of these organisations had been seeking permission since 2016, but their applications were pending. According to the news received, hotel restaurants, online delivery related to food and drink as well as establishments providing medicines round the clock have also been included in the 24-hour delivery facility.

Yes and under this, 314 establishments are being allowed. In such a situation, it is now expected that this decision will also promote the 'nightlife' culture prevalent in big cities. While approving the proposal, the Lt Governor also reportedly raised issues like delay on the part of the Labour Department in disposing of applications made by establishments. A total of 346 applications were pending, including 18 applications of 2016, 26 of 2017, 83 of 2018, 25 of 2019, 04 of 2020, and 74 applications of 2021.

While approving the proposal, the LG also noted that the delay showed that the labour department was showing an unprofessional attitude. Yes, the department was adopting a 'pick and choice policy' in processing the applications. Corrupt practices can also be done in such a system. At the same time, the LG also noted that excessive delaying of such regular applications can create feelings of distrust in the business community at large.

Under this, the LG strictly advised that such applications are disposed of within a stipulated time frame, so as to create a conducive investor-friendly business environment and positive confidence in Delhi's entrepreneurs and the business community at large.
