We all go to the office and it is important for all of us to go to the office 6 days a week otherwise the salary is deducted. But today we are going to tell you about an office that calls its employees for only 4 days. Yes, there is a country in the world where people go to the office 4 days a week and spend the rest of the day with their family or friends. Yes, in fact, we are talking about Iceland. There has been an experiment since 2015 to reduce people's working hours. In fact, Iceland started working 4 days a week with more than 2,500 employees in 2015. The experiment was completed in two phases.
The trial was conducted as a Reykjavik City Trial between 2015 and 2019 in the first phase. It ran as an Icelandic Government Trial between 2017 and 2021 in the same second phase. Iceland the government wanted to see if reducing working hours also affected the work. Finally, the Government found that the productivity of the people from this trial was either the same or in some cases it showed improvement.
That is, reducing the working hours did not reduce the work. The results of such trials were very positive. The government of Iceland observed that the experiment improved the Work-Life Balance of the people of the workplace where working hours were reduced. At the same time, the stress in personal life decreased.
