New Delhi: A vaccination drive is being carried out across the country to combat the menace of Coronavirus. Amid the vaccination campaign, there are reports of a lack of vaccine in several states including Maharashtra, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh. Vaccination operations in many states have slowed down due to the vaccine shortage.
Only two days of vaccine stock are left in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh CM and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel have said that the state has received 35.83 lakh vaccine doses so far and currently has a stock of 4.83 lakhs vaccine doses, which will expire in 2 days. Baghel has further said that we have requested the central government to provide 7 days' stock to the state so that the vaccination campaign will run smoothly.
The campaign to introduce the corona vaccine started in the country on 16 January. As of 9 April, 9 crores 80 lakh 75 thousand 160 corona doses have been given throughout the country. There were 34 lakh 15 thousand 55 vaccines last day. The campaign to give the second dose of the vaccine started on 13 February. From April 1, all people above 45 years of age are being vaccinated.
