During a marriage function at Maur a place near Bathinda city, open firing took place as part of celebrations which caused the death of an orchestra artist present there. The accused is identified as the son of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) group leader's son.
The victim's name is Kulwinder Kaur aged 25 who was also present at the function belonged to Bathinda.
The three escapists are charged under section 302 (murder) and section 25 (firing of guns in contravention of law) 27 ((punishment for using arms) 54 (amendments relating to arms and ammunition) and 59 (fee payable on petition for appeal) of Arms Act.
