Oppo Smartphones now support Jio 5G with  new updates

New Delhi: Most of Oppo India's 5G phones have reportedly received software updates that support Reliance Jio's standalone (SA) 5G network, according to the company.

Oppo has already released software updates that make several of its devices compatible with Jio's true 5G services, including the Oppo Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, Reno 7, Oppo F21 Pro 5G, Oppo F19 Pro+, Oppo K10, and Oppo A53s 5G SA is included. Network.

Users on these devices can now experience true 5G in cities where Jio has made 5G available. The company also said that the upcoming 5G SA software update will be available for other devices.

The smartphone maker has been quick to roll out 5G-ready updates for its products in India, beating key competitors Samsung, Google and Apple.

In the $19 billion (roughly Rs. 1.6 lakh crore) 5G spectrum auction in August, Jio, India's largest mobile carrier with over 420 million subscribers, bought airwaves worth $11 billion (roughly Rs. 90,600 crore).

While Vodafone-Idea spent over $2 billion, Airtel spent over $5 billion (roughly Rs. 41,000 crores) (roughly Rs. 16,500 crores). On 1 October, Reliance Jio's True 5G and Bharti Airtel's 5G Plus services were launched in India respectively.

The two leading telecom providers have managed to cover most of the major cities more than a month and a half into the roll-out. However, most of the Tier II and Tier III regions are yet to receive 5G support from their telcos.

The government in October urged smartphone makers including Samsung and Apple to update their devices with software capable of supporting 5G connectivity at least by the end of 2022.

In response, Apple and Google each said that by mid-December, their respective Pixel and iPhone models would receive 5G software updates.
