NEW DELHI: Parliamentary notifications from the opposition on the Adani dispute and free speech. Manish Tewari, a congressman from the Lok Sabha, has issued an adjournment notice over the freedom of speech of MPs in the midst of the controversy surrounding Rahul Gandhi's comments in Parliament by the Treasury benches and the opposition demanding JPC in the Adani controversy.

Manish Tewari' said in notice, "The powers and privileges of the Houses of Parliament, as well as their members and committees, are covered in Article 105 of the Indian Constitution. There will be freedom of speech in Parliament, according to Article 105(1), subject, of course, to the Constitution and any rules enacted by Parliament." Pramod Tiwari, a Congress member and Rajya Sabha member, has issued notice that the Rajya Sabha's activities will be suspended due to the Adani controversy.

The government is demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi for his remarks made in the UK, while the opposition has been calling for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to review the Hindenburg report.

Earlier, The Adani group has maintained that it complies with all laws and disclosure requirements. The protest by various Opposition parties followed a meeting on February 6 morning to coordinate their joint strategy in the House on the Adani issue.
