New Delhi: After the skirmish between Chinese and Indian soldiers in the Tawang sector, the opposition, especially the Congress, is continuously creating a ruckus in the Parliament. Even after Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement on this issue in Parliament, opposition MPs staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha demanding a discussion on China. After which the government reiterated that the Defense Minister has given a statement in the House, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju himself has gone to Tawang and met the jawans to take stock of the situation. Even, the army itself has given a statement on the China issue saying that the situation is completely under control and the army is ready for any situation. However, the uproar of the opposition in the Parliament continues and the proceedings of the House are being disrupted continuously, due to which the work is not being done.

On this, Piyush Goyal said in Parliament that such issues were never discussed during the UPA government. Now Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that even in 2005 when a similar issue was discussed under Rule 193, he was told that it was not a good thing and politics should not be done on such issues. should be done. Rijiju further said, 'When the Chinese Prime Minister visited India, I was in opposition at that time. I demanded a discussion on the border dispute in the Lok Sabha under rule 193. At that time Pranab Mukherjee was the leader of the opposition. He called me separately and said that this is a sensitive issue and it is not appropriate to discuss it in Parliament. This has to be dealt with internally.

Rijiju said that after talking to Mukherjee, he did not press for discussion in the House. Let us inform you that from April 9 to April 12, in the year 2005, the then-Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao was visiting India. Mentioning another incident, Rijiju said that after this, in 2006, when the Chinese President was about to visit India, there was an infiltration attempt on the border in Arunachal Pradesh and also in Ladakh. I once again demanded a discussion in the House. But, at that time also Pranab Mukherjee repeated the same thing and said that whatever information I want, I will be given personally. I said that it all depends on our Leader of the Opposition, Lal Krishna Advani. Mukherjee then spoke with Advani and we decided not to pressurize the government to discuss it in the House. Chinese President Hu Jintao visited India from 20 November to 23 November.

Rijiju said that today the same Congress is constantly talking about discussing the issue of China in the House. He said that Indian borders are more secure under the Modi government. The government is also continuously working on infrastructure at the border. He said that in the year 2013 when AK Antony was the Defense Minister, he had said that the Congress policy did not include the development of infrastructure in the border areas.
