Dehradun: State governments have become strict over writing controversial posts on social media against Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and other army officers who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. The Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand and Karnataka have ordered strict legal action against those who write controversial posts against soldiers and officers on social media.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tweeted that 'if a mischievous element in the state makes any objectionable remarks on the departed soldiers on social media or any other form in an ugly mindset, the government will take the harshest punitive action against him as per law.' State that CDS Bipin Rawat, who was martyred in the helicopter crash, was originally from Uttarakhand. CM Dhami wrote in another tweet from his Twitter account that 'The respect of our soldiers is supreme for us. Late General Bipin Rawat ji will always be the pride of Uttarakhand.'

Uttarakhand as well as Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai on Friday condemned the objectionable posts on social media over the death of CDS Bipin Rawat in a military helicopter crash and said he has asked the police to identify him and take strict legal action against him.
