Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Saturday registered 4,852 new cases of corona virus, the lowest in a day in the last 50 days. However, 47 more people lost their lives due to infection, the highest number of dead in a day. A health department official said that 3,257 people have lost their lives and 8,43,313 have been infected in Odisha so far due to the epidemic. New cases of death have come from 17 districts.
Khurda claimed the highest number of deaths, while five lost their lives in Cuttack. Tell us that 4,852 new covid-19 cases were registered in the state in the last 24 hours. There were 4,851 cases in Odisha on April 21. Of the new cases of infection, 2,765 were reported from the isolation center, while the remaining 2,087 cases were reported due to contact with locals. Khurda district received the highest number of 649 cases. Bhubaneswar, the state capital, also falls under the same district.
This was followed by 505 patients in Cuttack and 382 in Jajpur. There are currently 62,515 active corona cases in the state. A total of 7,81,488 patients have recovered here so far. CM Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced an additional package of Rs 25 crore for covid-19 management in 11 districts of western Odisha.
