Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported 2,182 new cases of corona infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total corona cases in the state to 9,52,111. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 4,992 after 67 people died of the corona. A health department official said that there are now 21,540 active cases in the state and 5,25,526 patients have recovered from the disease so far.
The health department said 2,317 patients recovered from corona on Friday. Out of the new deaths reported from 15 districts, Khurda alone recorded 25 deaths, followed by Ganjam (8), Sundargarh (7), Mayurbhanj, and Puri (6 each), Bargarh (4), and Nayagarh (3). A total of 53 other corona patients have also died due to comradity. Out of all the 30 patients found in the districts, patients from Cuttack (308), Jajpur (175), and Balasore (161).
Odisha has tested 73,27 people for corona in the last 24 hours. So far more than 1.49 crore people have been screened for the total corona in the state. The positivity rate in the state is 6.35 percent. On the other hand, the Department of Health and Family Welfare has asked all district collectors and municipal commissioners to ensure 100 percent immunization of transgenders.
