Puri: With 1,032 new cases of coronavirus reported in Odisha on Monday, the total number of infected people has increased to 9,79,737, while the death toll due to 67 more patients has reached 6,033. An official of the state health department has been informed in this regard.

The number of active corona cases in Odisha has gone up to 15,050. During the last 24 hours, 1,773 covid-19 patients have also recovered in the state, increasing the total number of people who have overcome the deadly virus to 9,58,601 in the state. According to a health department official, Khurda district reported the highest number of 12 patients, with the capital Bhubaneswar also being part of the same district. This was followed by 11 deaths in the Sundergarh district, 10 in Cuttack, six in Puri, and five in Dhenkanal.

The rate of corona infection in Odisha has come down to 1.53 percent. Out of the new cases of infection, 598 cases came to light from quarantine centers while the remaining cases came to light while detecting contact. Khurda district recorded the highest number of 237 new cases of infection, followed by 154 new cases in Cuttack. Less than 100 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in 28 districts of the state.
