Bhubaneswar: Sushila Devi, wife of Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, died at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Sunday night. She tested positive for corona 21 days ago. Giving information about his wife's demise on Twitter, Ganeshi Lal posted, "With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, we inform that the first lady of the state, Mrs. Sushila Devi, passed away last night. Let us pray for the soul. Om Shanti. " The Governor's wife Sushila Devi was 73 years old.

On November 2, Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal, his wife Sushila Devi and four of his family were found corona infected and were admitted to a covid hospital in Bhubaneswar. Although Governor Ganeshi Lal had recovered from Corona, his wife was undergoing treatment. Born in Hisar, Haryana, Sushila Devi married Professor Lal in July 1964.

The couple has 4 daughters and 3 sons. He participated in many socio-cultural activities. CM Naveen Patnaik expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sushila Devi and described her as very warm and pious. Andhra Pradesh Governor Vishwas Bhushan Harichandan also expressed deep sorrow.
