Gandhinagar: On Saturday, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s presence at BJP chief Amit Shah’s rally in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar would have come as a blow to the opposition that often banks on the strained relationship between the two alliance partners to highlight ruling dispensation’s weakness. On Saturday, Thackeray accompanied Shah during his rally in Gujarat’s capital and made it clear that rift between BJP and Shiv Sena is a thing of the past and that they both are on the same track now. The Shiv Sena leader will also be present at Shah’s filing of nomination from Gandhinagar's seat apart from other BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari.

Thackery said at the rally “Some people were celebrating thinking BJP and Shiv Sena are fighting, but we are on same track now: Some must be surprised that I reached at Amit Shah’s nomination filing. Some of them were celebrating thinking that two parties of the same ideologies were fighting. We had a detailed talk over our misunderstandings. Our differences have been settled now,”. The on-off relationship between Shiv Sena and BJP, who are alliance partners in Maharashtra and Centre, is not new to anyone and often comes to fore, giving fodder to the opposition to target the ruling government.

He asserted He further said that his party had and would never stab BJP from the back. "My father taught me to do everything from the heart, issues that we raised were of the people, we (BJP-Shiv Sena) had differences but we settled them. We never stabbed them from the back and never will,". The Shiv Sena chief also took a dig at opposition and asked it to hold a rally to announce their PM candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
