The world is still fighting the coronavirus. No vaccine of Covid-19 has been found so far. 4 people have died with the mosquito-borne virus in Spain. The virus is being called the 'West Nile Virus', and three people have lost their lives in Seville. It is encountered in Spain's southern province of Andalusia. On Monday, a woman died of West Nile virus in Cadiz province. This was the first death of this virus in Cadiz where an 87-year-old woman died of West Nile virus. The local health chief said that at present there are 5 confirmed cases of the virus in Cadiz. Out of which 3 people are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Seville was the focal point of the West Nile virus outbreak, and currently, confirmed cases are 24. 3 people have died due to the virus, including two elderly persons aged 70 and 77 and one elderly woman of 85 years. Just a few days after the confirmation of the third death in Seville, experts warned that the infection was proving to be a health crisis for British citizens arriving here for holidays. Infectious diseases specialist Pablo Barreiro said that so far only 2 to 5 per cent of cases are showing symptoms. This disease is not easily noticed. Barreiro claimed that the infection would spread to Spain in the future, especially in the summer months.

He said that regular use of mosquito repellent is the most effective way to prevent this virus. The West Nile virus, spread by the Culex mosquito, was first seen in Spain in 2004. Meanwhile, most of the horses were affected by this virus. The current outbreak is the worst in the southern Andalusia region of Spain, with popular British leisure areas such as the Costa del Sol and the country's most populous region with about 9 million inhabitants.
