According to the report of research firm Top10VPN, India has suffered a lot due to the ban on the Internet. At the same time, India has lost about 1.3 billion dollars, which is about 92 billion 18 crore 75 lakh 50 thousand rupees. The report states that in the year 2019, 100 times internet was shut down in India which is equivalent to about 4,196 hours. In Kashmir alone, there has been a loss of 1.1 billion dollars i.e. about 78 thousand crore rupees.

Internet stopped in Jammu and Kashmir 51 times in five months
Since August 2019, till now Jammu and Kashmir has shut down the internet about 51 times. For information, let us know that the Supreme Court has given its verdict on Friday on the petition filed against many restrictions including the Internet in Jammu and Kashmir. The apex court has said in the judgment that the Jammu and Kashmir government should review all restrictive orders within a week. The court asked the administration to restore internet services in all the institutions providing essential services such as hospitals, educational institutions. Also asked the Jammu and Kashmir administration to review all the banning orders in a week and make them public. The court said that the right to use the Internet is a fundamental right under Article 19 (1) (a).

Kerala included internet in fundamental rights
Kerala has become the first state in the country to have fundamental rights to the internet along with bread, cloth and house. In March 2017, Kerala in its budget had set a target of providing internet free of cost to 20 lakh poor families. Apart from this, on 6 November 2019, the state cabinet gave its final approval in a meeting. About Rs 1,548 crore will be spent on the Kerala Fiber Optic Network (KFON) project through Internet Fundamental Rights. The target is 2020 to complete the plan.
