In Himachal Pradesh, the figure was the lowest at 14.8 per cent in terms of women.

81.9 per cent of male respondents in Karnataka say it is advisable to beat up a wife. With this, Andhra Pradesh (83.6 per cent), Karnataka (76.9 per cent), Manipur (65.9 per cent) and Kerala (52.4 per cent) were the figures. Himachal Pradesh and Tripura, on the other hand, have the least number of men who have supported domestic abuse. In these two states, the number of such respondents was 14.2 per cent and 21.3 per cent respectively.
